Kerouac Program

Jean-Louis Lebris de Keruac was an American novelist and poet who pioneered the Beat Generation. He was a US Merchant Marine during WWII. He was able to capture the real life of everyday Americans through travelling, hitchhiking, living with and amongst those in extreme poverty. Although he subjected himself to this willingly, he was able to capture the joy, love, and carefree mindset of those who had the least.

Through the Kerouac Program we aim to help teens, veterans, and disadvantaged families by “going Kerouac” (see Stepbrothers job resume) and experiencing the world firsthand. Our goal is to take a group of 10 on a road trip with no real itinerary other than our destination which will be a national park of choice. The benefits the outdoors has for your mind, body, and spirit are endless. Mental health, emotional and physical health, fresh air and no noise pollution will allow your mind to work and think in ways it typically is not able. Our goal is to raise $2,500 through donations and fundraising events to get our first group out to experience life in a positive manner. Feel free to make your way to the donations page and help out!

We cannot wait for our first trip and to share it with all of you. Through our blog posts we’ll keep you informed on our progress and where our destinations will be. We will also post a photo gallery to share all the incredible sites and moments.
